FAQs

What is art therapy, and do I need to be an artist?

Not at all. Art therapy uses creative expression as a way to explore emotions, experiences, and insights that might be difficult to access through words alone. It’s not about making “good” art—it’s about making space to feel, process, and reconnect with yourself. No experience required, just curiosity.

How do I know if we’re a good fit?

A good therapeutic fit is essential. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute virtual consultation. It’s a no-pressure space to ask questions, share what you're looking for, and get a sense of how I work. You can book a consultation here.

What can I expect in a typical session?

Every session is tailored to you. Some sessions may focus more on talking; others might include guided art-making, journaling, or mindfulness practices. You’re always in the lead—we move at your pace and comfort level. My role is to offer support, perspective, and creative tools along the way.

What issues do you specialize in?

I primarily support women navigating transitions, burnout, grief, identity shifts, and emotional overwhelm. I also work with women who feel disconnected from their creativity or sense of self and are seeking a deeper reconnection.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. I am completely virtual and offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy for clients located in Texas. This allows for flexibility and accessibility, especially for women balancing multiple roles or living in rural areas.

Do you accept insurance or offer sliding scale?

I am currently cash pay only. However, I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan allows. I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to keep therapy accessible—please feel free to ask about availability.
